Recently, the drilling subsidiary of Offshore Oil Engineering Company successfully completed the drilling of a certain adjustment well in the East China Sea, which was drilled on the Exploration No. 7 Platform. The drilling depth reached 7504 meters, successfully breaking the record for the deepest offshore well in China's petrochemical industry. At the same time, it set a record for the shortest drilling cycle in the 7500-8000 meter offshore well section and a record for Sinopec's offshore drilling depth of 9-5/8-inch casing.
This breakthrough has increased by more than 1000 meters compared to the original record, which is a reflection of the improvement in platform management ability and operational level, and demonstrates the strong strength of the company's offshore oil team.
This well is an ultra deep and large displacement well, which poses risks and difficulties such as easy jamming, well control, formation collapse, and high equipment load. To actively respond, the company and platform have comprehensively prepared for drilling.
The key well section of this well is difficult to operate, and the floating weight of the second casing design exceeds the maximum load of conventional casing lifting tools. In addition, the pressure difference between the second casing and the target layer of the third casing is very high, making it easy for the drill bit to get stuck. To improve the traditional casing method for this platform, the second section adopts unused mechanical top drive casing tools, and the third section also adopts unused fine pressure control drilling technology. Faced with two "firsts", the drilling team members cooperated harmoniously, the driller and deputy driller were skilled in operation, and the captain was on duty throughout the entire process. The operation parameters were accurately adjusted according to the actual situation of torque, friction, etc. No technical problems occurred. The deck planned the casing laying site in advance, ensuring the continuity of the operation. After more than 30 hours, 545 casings were successfully lowered to the design depth, setting a new record for Sinopec's offshore drilling of 9-5/8-inch casings.
